JAYAPURA – The Papua Provincial Government is focusing its development direction on three main programs: Healthy, Educated, and Productive Papua, all approached through an inclusive economic framework.
This was conveyed by the Acting Head of Regional Development Planning, Research and Innovation Agency of Papua Province, Jimmy Thesia. These priority programs will be incorporated into the Regional Development Work Plan.
The focus will be on developing the potential of customary territories, particularly through an economic blueprint for the Tabi and Saireri regions.
“The outcomes of the Regional Development Work Plan and Papua Special Autonomy Development Planning Forum will serve as a key reference for finalizing the Regional Development Work Plan and will be proposed during the National Development Planning Forum as part of development synergy between central and regional governments,” said Jimmy.
The Development Planning Forum discussions covered the identification of development challenges, determination of priorities, and alignment of regional programs and activities with national priorities.
According to Jimmy, of the 90 proposed priority sub-activities submitted by nine districts/cities in Papua, 50 sub-activities have been recommended for further discussion in the Papua Development Roadmap Work Plan.
“This Development Planning Forum is a strategic moment to ensure that development policies genuinely respond to the needs of the community,” he concluded. ***
