In his remarks, the Acting Governor emphasized that this activity is a concrete form of the Papua Provincial Government’s presence and concern for communities affected by the disaster. “A disaster is not just about destruction—it is a humanitarian issue. The government must be actively and responsibly present,” he stated.
The logistical aid dispatched today is the result of collaboration among several technical agencies within the Papua Provincial Government, including:
Department of Social Affairs, Population, and Civil Registration, providing:
9 tons of Government Rice Reserves (CBP) from the Ministry of Social Affairs (KEMENSOS-RI)
Papua Provincial Family Welfare Empowerment Team, providing:
Milk and supplementary food (PMT) for infants and pregnant women
This aid deployment is part of a series of activities in preparation for the Acting Governor’s planned visit to affected areas on Saturday, May 10, 2025, specifically to Kasonaweja District in Mamberamo Raya Regency. The visit aims to directly assess community conditions and hold discussions with local authorities to formulate post-disaster rehabilitation and reconstruction solutions.
A total of 22 personnel from seven provincial agencies and the Family Welfare Empowerment Team will participate in this humanitarian mission.
The Papua Provincial Government hopes this assistance will alleviate the burden on affected communities and mark the beginning of the recovery process. Moreover, this effort reflects the government’s commitment to fostering solidarity and synergy in humanitarian work across Papua. ***
