JAYAPURA – The Papua Provincial Government held an assistance workshop on the preparation of regional apparatus development planning documents in the economic sector, focusing on optimizing local revenue.
The activity took place from May 6 to 9 at the Papua Governor's Office.
Acting Governor of Papua, Ramses Limbong, stated that all parties share the responsibility of ensuring that local revenue is managed effectively, transparently, and used wisely and appropriately.
For 2025, Papua local revenue is projected at IDR 515 billion, consisting of IDR 309 billion from regional taxes, IDR 135 billion from regional revenues, IDR 55 billion from the management of separated assets, and IDR 14 billion from other legitimate local revenue sources.
"The optimization of program performance under the coordination of the Papua Provincial Development Planning and Research Agency is carried out to support the development planning documents, particularly regarding the synchronization of priority programs that can support the acceleration of local revenue (PAD) and the achievement of regional retribution targets in Papua Province," said the Governor.
He emphasized that this activity is expected to improve coordination and communication among various stakeholders to optimize local revenue by exploring each potential within the respective Regional Apparatus Organizations as part of the effort to build a better Papua.
“We must maximize and collect all potential revenue sources within the revenue-collecting Regional Apparatus Organizations for Papua’s development. The task of collecting revenue is not solely the responsibility of the Regional Revenue Agency but also lies with each Regional Apparatus Organization according to their respective regional revenue objectives,” he explained.
He also urged the Regional Apparatus Organizations to develop innovations to achieve the set targets. ***
