JAYAPURA – Acting Governor of Papua, Ramses Limbong, urged people from various ethnic and cultural backgrounds in Papua to continue strengthening synergy among community associations. This statement was made during the opening of the Maluku Cultural Festival at Trisila Field, Entrop, Jayapura City, on Saturday (May 10, 2025).
According to Ramses, the diversity of Papua's population is a strength that must be preserved collectively. He emphasized that existing community groups should continue to build unity to foster a more harmonious social life.
“With this diversity, we can unite. We must synergize among the many community associations in Papua,” said Ramses in front of festival participants.
He also reminded the public of the importance of maintaining unity ahead of the upcoming re-vote (PSU). Ramses hoped that political differences would not lead to division within society.
“Vote according to your conscience, without forming blocs. Our lives now are for Papua, and Papua is for us,” he affirmed.
This Maluku Cultural Festival served as a gathering event for Maluku residents living in Papua. The festival featured traditional cultural performances such as the Pukul Sapu Lidi and Bambu Gila.
The event was held as part of the 208th Pattimura Day commemoration. In addition to showcasing traditional arts, the festival also helped strengthen the bond between the Maluku community and other groups living side by side in Papua. ***
