JAYAPURA – The Papua Provincial Government has held hearings for six cases of State Treasury and Compensation Claims (TPTGR) involving civil servants.
The hearings were conducted by the Papua Regional Loss Settlement Advisory Council (MP-PKD) at the Papua Governor’s Office on Wednesday (July 3).
The session was led directly by Acting Regional Secretary of Papua, Suzana Wanggai, as Chair of the Papua MP-PKD. She stated that the total regional loss in the six cases amounted to IDR 1.5 billion.
It was explained that the compensation hearings refer to the Ministry of Home Affairs Regulation No. 133 of 2018. This regulation provides room for administrative settlement for civil servants who are not treasurers or officials but have caused regional financial losses.
“Of the six cases, two were held in absentia because the civil servants involved had passed away. For in absentia cases, the council's decision is immediately formalized through a Governor's Decree and reported to the Audit Board,” said Suzana.
As for active civil servants who were present, they are given 90 days to repay the losses in cash.
“If the losses are not settled within the specified time, further action will be taken under applicable procedures,” she added.
She noted that this step complements the government’s ongoing efforts to address financial loss cases involving civil servants. ***
