JAYAPURA – Maj. Gen. (Ret.) Ramses Limbong officially bid farewell to the civil servants within the Papua Provincial Government on Tuesday (July 8, 2025). The farewell took place during an Ecumenical Service for Civil Servants at Sasana Krida, Papua Governor’s Office.
Ramses concluded his term as Acting Governor of Papua after 11 months in office and was officially succeeded by Agus Fatoni, who was inaugurated by the Minister of Home Affairs on July 7, 2025, in Jakarta.
Ramses expressed his appreciation and gratitude for the support of the civil servants and all parties who assisted him in managing the provincial government during his tenure.
“I bid farewell to all civil servants. May the Papua Provincial Government continue to progress and grow stronger,” Ramses said.
He also reminded all civil servants to maintain their integrity, discipline, and work spirit as part of their responsibility in serving the public.
“Every civil servant must have a strong commitment. Discipline and integrity are the foundation for making a real contribution to the organization,” he emphasized.
Ramses also shared his impressions during his service in Papua. He noted that the work dynamics in Papua are intense, and leadership must be carried out with both flexibility and situational sensitivity.
“A leader must know when to be firm and when to take a heartfelt approach. That’s where the art lies,” he added.
In his closing statement, Ramses expressed pride in the improvements made in civil servant discipline and hoped this positive trend would continue under the new leadership. ***
