JAYAPURA – Acting Governor of Papua, Agus Fatoni, made a working visit to the Institute of Public Administration (IPDN) Papua Campus, located in the Buper Waena area, Jayapura. The visit was directly welcomed by the Rector of IPDN Papua Campus, David E. Mayor, along with the academic community (July 11).
During the visit, the Acting Governor emphasized the crucial role of IPDN as a strategic institution in shaping young civil servants who are professional and possess integrity. "IPDN Papua Campus is a strategic place to develop future civil service cadres who will become the frontliners of public service. I want to ensure that the facilities and learning environment here are well maintained,” said Acting Governor Fatoni. While inspecting several campus facilities, he observed that some were in disrepair.
He asked the Rector of IPDN Papua Campus to prepare a detailed report immediately and submit it to the Ministry of Home Affairs. "Please prepare a comprehensive written report and submit it to the Minister of Home Affairs so that solutions can be pursued. IPDN Papua must remain a center for training excellent future civil servants," Fatoni, who also serves as the Director General of Regional Financial Development at the Ministry of Home Affairs, stated.
To the students, Fatoni delivered an encouraging message urging them to stay enthusiastic about learning, follow developments in governance, and prepare themselves to become capable and responsible public servants. Meanwhile, Rector David E. Mayor expressed appreciation for the visit and committed to acting on the directions given. "We are grateful for the attention of the Acting Governor and also the Director General of Regional Financial Development.
We will immediately prepare the written report and also promote collaboration with regional heads across Papua to increase the quota of prospective cadets through cost-sharing schemes according to existing regulations,” he said. This visit aims to strengthen collaboration between local governments and educational institutions for better governance and to improve the quality of human resources for the civil service in Papua. ***
