JAYAPURA – Acting Governor of Papua, Agus Fatoni, visited the Office of the Papua Provincial General Elections Commission to ensure the readiness for the implementation of the Repeat Election.
During the visit, Fatoni inspected several supporting facilities at the Papua General Elections Commission Office. He assessed that the building was already in excellent condition.
“I see the KPU office is very good, grand, and representative,” said Fatoni at the Papua General Elections Commission Office, Jayapura, Papua, on Friday (July 11, 2025).
However, he noted several areas that still need attention, including the suboptimal internet access.
“Some important facilities, such as the internet network, still need improvement. These issues need to be resolved in collaboration with the relevant technical regional offices to ensure smooth revote implementation,” Fatoni added.
On the same occasion, Papua Commissioner of General Elections Commission, Stave Dumbon expressed gratitude and appreciation for the visit. He considered the presence of Acting Governor Fatoni a genuine form of collaboration and moral support for the General Elections Commission.
“We feel honored and supported by the direct visit of the Acting Governor. This gives us new enthusiasm to prepare for the revote thoroughly and responsibly,” he said.
This visit is part of the Papua Provincial Government’s efforts to ensure that all stages of the revote are carried out with transparency, neutrality, and integrity. ***
