The session, held in the main chamber of the Papua DPR building, marked the completion of all stages of discussion on the 2024 financial accountability report of the Papua Provincial Government.
In his speech, Chairman of the Papua Provincial Parliament, Henrry Bonay, expressed his appreciation for the collaboration of all parties who contributed to the success of the plenary agenda:

Meanwhile, Acting Governor Fatoni, in his remarks, emphasized the importance of synergy and accountability in Papua’s development:
“Although I’ve just taken office, I’ve observed a strong partnership between the executive and legislative bodies, which has led to positive outcomes, as reflected in the Unqualified Opinion from the Audit Board of Indonesia. This is a collective achievement we should be grateful for,” said Fatoni.
He also expressed appreciation to the Papua Provincial Parliament for approving the Regional Regulation Draft and reminded all stakeholders of several key priorities moving forward:
The need to closely monitor the realization of regional revenue and expenditure to maintain fiscal balance.
The necessity of breakthroughs in increasing Regional Original Revenue, considering Papua’s heavy reliance on central government transfers.
Continuous efforts to strengthen the role of Regional-Owned Enterprises as pillars of the regional economy.
The provincial government’s commitment to maintaining transparency, accountability, efficiency, and effectiveness in financial management remains a top priority.
Optimization of regional spending to support development goals and public service delivery.
Recommendations and feedback from the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia will be evaluated and followed up according to applicable regulations.
To conclude, Acting Governor Fatoni called on all parties to maintain stability ahead of the Repeat Voting in several areas of Papua:
“I invite all parties—legislative, executive, and the wider community—to jointly ensure a peaceful, honest, and democratic revote,” he concluded. ***
