WAROPEN – Acting Governor of Papua, Agus Fatoni, commended the safe, peaceful, and tolerant environment in Waropen Regency, emphasizing that this atmosphere is a vital asset for continued development and community welfare improvement.
“We need to maintain, protect, and enhance this, because with security and harmony as our foundation, we can build, the government can develop, the economy can grow, and the welfare of the people can be increased,” Fatoni said at the GKI Waropen Classis Office, Waropen, Papua, Friday (August 1, 2025).
“It is unimaginable if our region is not safe. Therefore, we must all work together to preserve this security and protect what we have built so far to move towards a prosperous and advanced Waropen,” he added.
Fatoni also reminded the community that the Re-Vote for Governor and Deputy Governor of Papua will take place on August 6, 2025, inviting everyone to exercise their voting rights wisely and peacefully.
“It is our shared responsibility to ensure the success of this re-vote. Choose the Governor and Deputy Governor according to your preference,” he explained.
He expressed appreciation to the Waropen Regent and all parties who have worked hard to maintain a conducive atmosphere ahead of the PSU, hoping that the re-vote across Papua Province will be safe, orderly, and successful.
“Let us continue to maintain this, and the government should play an active role in socializing so that the community remains calm, safe, and peaceful to guarantee the success of the re-vote,” Fatoni emphasized.
At the same event, Waropen Regent Fransiscus Xaverius Mote reported that Waropen Regency has 121 Polling Stations with 25,000 registered voters. The local government has also been actively conducting socialization efforts to ensure a successful re-vote.
