JAYAPURA – Acting Governor of Papua, Agus Fatoni, led a joint ceremony attended by civil servants and employees from various agencies within the Jayapura City Government. The event was held at the Jayapura Mayor’s Office Field, Jayapura, Papua, on Monday (August 4, 2025).
“We should be grateful as the large family of Papua is blessed with such a beautiful region, rich in natural resources and abundant potential. I thank all employees who have contributed to maintaining a conducive environment so that all activities run smoothly,” Fatoni said.
On this occasion, Fatoni emphasized the importance of integrity and responsibility in performing duties as public servants. He noted that all work by civil servants is accountable not only administratively but also morally—to both God and the community.
“As a form of gratitude for the blessing of being public servants, we must carry out our duties to the best of our abilities. All tasks and responsibilities entrusted to us are a mandate,” he affirmed.
He also commended Jayapura City’s achievements in earning various awards and recognitions. Fatoni encouraged all civil servants to continue innovating, making breakthroughs, and maintaining budget efficiency to ensure funds are well-targeted.
“The achievements we have made must be preserved and enhanced. Refocus and eliminate unnecessary budgets. The budget must truly support priority programs and the vision and mission of our regional leaders,” he said.
Ahead of the upcoming Re-Vote for the Papua Governor and Deputy Governor election on August 6, 2025, Fatoni reminded all civil servants to participate by exercising their voting rights wisely and responsibly.
“Use your voting rights according to your conscience. Civil servants must remain professional and neutral, but that does not mean shutting themselves off from information related to the re-vote,” Fatoni stated.
He stressed the importance of maintaining regional stability before and after the election. Fatoni called on all parties to accept whoever is elected through the democratic process as the leader chosen by God.
“Whoever is elected is the leader we must support together so that Papua can continue to advance and develop. Always maintain a safe, peaceful, and conducive atmosphere,” he concluded. ***
