JAYAPURA – The Papua Provincial Government, through theRegional Financial Access Acceleration Team (TPAKD), has reaffirmed its commitment to broadening financial inclusion and ensuring that the people of Papua—particularly MSME actors, farmers, fishermen, and other productive business groups—have adequate access to finance.
This was conveyed by Acting Regional Secretary of Papua Province, Suzana Wanggai, as the Coordinator of the Regional Financial Access Acceleration Team, during her remarks at the opening of the Coordination Meeting of the Regional Financial Access Acceleration Team at the Papua Governor’s Office on Tuesday (Sept 9, 2025).
Suzana emphasized that the coordination meeting serves as a strategic momentum to formulate concrete steps and work programs, while aligning national policies so they can be implemented according to the real needs of the Papuan people.
“Thank you to the entire team present today. Your presence is very important to provide input, suggestions, and ideas in expanding public understanding of financial access, especially for MSMEs, farmers, fishermen, and other productive business groups,” said Suzana.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Bureau of Development and Government Administration of the Papua Regional Secretariat, Dr. Andri, as the Regional Work Unit coordinating the activities of the Regional Financial Access Acceleration Team, explained that the role of the Regional Financial Access Acceleration Team is to expand public access to formal financial services.
“At present, shares or bank savings are still perceived as being limited to certain groups. In fact, financial services should be accessible to all levels of society. Through the Regional Financial Access Acceleration Team, we want to strengthen our collective commitment to ensure that financial access can be enjoyed by all Papuans,” Andri stated.
The Coordination Meeting was also attended by the leadership of the Financial Services Authority (OJK), the Head of BPJS Employment Papua Province, the Regional Office Head of the Directorate General of Treasury in Papua, financial institution leaders, relevant heads of Regional Work Unit, and the Papua Provincial Government’s economic partners.
Through this cross-sector synergy, the Regional Financial Access Acceleration Team of Papua reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening financial inclusion, improving community welfare, and building a more sustainable regional economic foundation. ***
