JAYAPURA – Acting Governor of Papua, Agus Fatoni, chaired a coordination meeting in preparation for the working visit of Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia, Gibran Rakabuming Raka, to Papua Province. The Vice President is scheduled to arrive in Merauke on September 17, 2025.
To ensure the visit runs smoothly, the Papua Provincial Government, along with the Jayapura City and Jayapura Regency Governments, the Indonesian National Armed Forces and Police, Presidential Advance Team, Presidential Security Force, Regional Leadership Coordination Forum elements, and other relevant stakeholders, convened at the State Building, Jayapura, on Monday (September 15, 2025).
“Today we held a coordination meeting regarding the Vice President’s visit scheduled for September 17–18. There are 11 locations planned for the Vice President to visit,” Fatoni stated.
He explained that the Vice President will visit and inspect several sites, including public service centers, national priority program locations, and local markets.
Fatoni expressed hope that the Vice President’s presence would strengthen and support the implementation of central government programs in Papua, particularly the Free Nutritious Meals Program (MBG) and free health check-up services.
He also called on the public to maintain peace, security, and harmony.
“I invite all communities to continue safeguarding the atmosphere of peace, safety, and harmony that we have built together. It is a source of pride for us to welcome the Vice President,” Fatoni said.
“We have shown our unity and togetherness, and we must continue to demonstrate that Papua can maintain security, unity, and peace, while proudly presenting ourselves as the people of Papua,” he added. ***
