JAYAPURA – Acting Governor of Papua, Agus Fatoni, inaugurated 15 officials, including high-ranking, functional, and supervisory officials within the Papua Provincial Government (Pemprov Papua). The inauguration ceremony was held at Namengkawi Hall, State Building, Jayapura, Papua, on Monday (September 15, 2025).

The inauguration was based on Papua Provincial Regulation No. 18 of 2023 concerning the Formation and Structure of Regional Apparatus. Under this regulation, all previously permanent officials in high-ranking, administrative, and supervisory positions were automatically converted to staff status.

“Therefore, today, Monday, September 15, 2025, I, Acting Governor of Papua, Agus Fatoni, hereby officially inaugurate the individuals whose names are listed in the appendix of Governor of Papua Decree No. SK.800.1.3.3-10133 and No. SK.800.1.3.3-10134 dated September 15, 2025, as high-ranking, administrative, and supervisory officials within the Papua Provincial Government,” Fatoni stated.

“I trust that you will carry out your duties to the best of your ability in accordance with the responsibilities entrusted to you,” he added.

Fatoni stressed that the inauguration was intended to enhance organizational performance within the Papua Provincial Government, fill vacant positions, and reaffirm employees who had lost official posts due to structural changes.

“Therefore, I ask the newly inaugurated officials to immediately adapt, study their main duties and functions, master the applicable regulations, understand the substance of their work, and comply with all existing provisions,” Fatoni said.

He also reminded the officials to work hard and maintain integrity in carrying out their responsibilities. According to him, hard work and innovation would improve performance in the future.

“We must innovate, make breakthroughs, and formulate new ways of working to maximize our performance,” Fatoni explained.

“Let us also not forget to maintain accountability and integrity, because government processes will always be subject to audits and inspections, ranging from internal and external audits to law enforcement. Therefore, I urge everyone to remind one another and share information so that we remain on the right path,” he continued.

Of the 15 officials inaugurated, four were high-ranking officials, seven were functional officials, and four were administrative officials. ***
