JAYAPURA – The Papua Provincial Government welcomed the working visit of Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia, Gibran Rakabuming Raka, to several strategic locations in Jayapura, Papua, on Wednesday (September 17, 2025). The Vice President’s agenda included visits to SMP Negeri 2 Sentani, Kampung Harapan Community Health Center (Puskesmas), the State Treasury Office, and the State Building.
Acting Governor of Papua, Agus Fatoni, expressed gratitude for the Vice President’s attention to Papua. “We are grateful for his visit; it is a blessing for the people of Papua and shows that we are receiving attention for the Papua we love,” he said.
At the Kampung Harapan Community Health Center, the Vice President observed public enthusiasm in accessing free healthcare services. Fatoni noted that the visit provides momentum to improve health facilities and infrastructure.
The Vice President also reviewed the implementation of the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) program at SMP Negeri 2 Sentani. The program, which has been well-received by students, is expected to be expanded across Papua.
In addition, Fatoni conveyed inputs to the Vice President on regional governance, infrastructure strengthening, and the optimal use of transfer funds and Special Autonomy funds.
“This visit serves as motivation for us in Papua to work harder, strengthen collaboration, and remain united in building the Papua we love,” Fatoni concluded. ***
