JAYAPURA – Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia, Gibran Rakabuming Raka, accompanied by Acting Governor of Papua, Agus Fatoni, paid an official visit to Yotefa Central Market in Abepura, Jayapura, on September 18, 2023. The visit underscored the government’s commitment to supporting traditional markets as centers of economic growth and community livelihood in Papua.
During the visit, Acting Governor Fatoni highlighted the vital role of Yotefa Market as one of Papua’s largest hubs of money circulation and trade. He noted that while infrastructure improvements, such as road access, have already been made, further upgrades are necessary to ensure modern, representative, and comfortable facilities for the community.
