JAYAPURA – Acting Governor of Papua, Agus Fatoni, together with Acting Chairperson of the Papua Provincial Family Welfare Empowerment Mobilization Team (TP PKK), Tyas A. Fatoni, attended an Ecumenical Worship Service organized by TP PKK Papua in collaboration with church children and youth. The event was held at Lukmen Hall, State Building, Jayapura, on Saturday (September 27, 2025).
On this occasion, Fatoni expressed his appreciation to the Family Welfare Empowerment Mobilization Team of Papua for consistently organizing worship and prayer gatherings. He said the activity not only strengthens unity but also reflects a commitment of faith in building a religious, resilient, and strong-charactered generation in Papua.
“We appreciate the Family Welfare Empowerment Mobilization Team of Papua for regularly holding worship and prayer services. This is a form of our commitment to Almighty God, while also strengthening unity and solidarity,” said Fatoni.
He emphasized the importance of prayer in daily life, especially for children and youth, noting that prayer serves as a source of strength and motivation in achieving success.
“Those who pray diligently have the spirit to succeed. Prayer is essential because God holds everything. Through prayer, we find the encouragement to work, study, and strive,” he said.
Fatoni also urged Papua’s children and youth to use their time wisely, avoid negative habits, and cultivate positive behaviors that foster progress.
“Successful people are those who can manage their time, set priorities, and surround themselves with positive environments. Avoid spending too much time on games or aimless activities. It is better to dedicate your time to studying, reading, interacting, and improving your skills,” he added.
He further highlighted the importance of solidarity, friendship, and safeguarding Papua’s reputation in public spaces, including on social media.
“Let us use social media wisely. Do not spread negativity, hate speech, or division. We must protect the good name of Papua, as well as our families, schools, and faith,” he emphasized.
Speaking before the church children and youth, Fatoni encouraged them to grow into intelligent, creative, and innovative individuals. He stressed that the key to success lies in hard work, passion for learning, reading, and overcoming bad habits such as laziness and lack of discipline.
“Successful children are those who work harder, study diligently, and continue to improve themselves. Intelligent people are those who are knowledgeable. Therefore, let us read diligently, keep innovating, and be a generation that Papua can be proud of,” he concluded.
The worship service was held in a solemn and warm atmosphere, attended by members of the Family Welfare Empowerment Mobilization Team of Papua, church children and youth, and community members. ***
