JAYAPURA – The Papua Provincial Government, through the Papua Regional Inflation Control Team (TPID), will intensify the implementation of the 4K Inflation Strategy, which focuses on ensuring supply availability, maintaining price affordability, facilitating smooth distribution, and enhancing effective communication.
This initiative follows up on the Inflation Coordination Meeting held on Monday (October 20).
“The Papua Provincial Government and all Regional Inflation Control Teams of district/city will strengthen coordination in the coming months to align interventions through the end of the year, especially as we approach major religious holidays,” said Andry, Head of the Bureau of Economic Affairs and Development Administration at the Papua Provincial Secretariat.
He added that the main priorities include stabilizing the prices of basic commodities, conducting integrated market operations, monitoring price fluctuations, and responding swiftly to any distribution disruptions.
Earlier, the Papua Provincial Government presented several key points during the Inflation Coordination Meeting, chaired by Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian and Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa, and attended by governors, regents, and mayors from across Indonesia.
For Papua, the meeting was attended virtually by Governor Mathius D. Fakhiri, along with the Regional Inflation Control Team of Papua.
Andry explained that the meeting highlighted how regional inflation across Indonesia remains under control, with Papua among the provinces successfully maintaining stable and well-managed inflation levels.
During the meeting, the Minister of Home Affairs also emphasized that regional governments, the Regional Inflation Control Team, and related institutions must strengthen coordination to control the prices of key food commodities contributing to inflation—particularly in the lead-up to major holidays.
“Focus on food commodities and distribution by stabilizing the prices of volatile food items—those whose prices and supplies fluctuate rapidly,” he concluded. ***
