JAYAPURA — Papua Governor Matius Fakhiri emphasized the importance of aligning the work programs of regional government agencies with the vision and mission of the regional leadership. He delivered the directive while leading the inaugural assembly of civil servants of the Papua Provincial Government on Monday, January 5, 2026.
The Governor said that the region's development vision and mission must be translated operationally into every regional government agency program. He therefore stressed that the role of regional government agencies' heads and assistants is crucial in ensuring that regional policies are implemented consistently and measurably.
"The vision and aspirations of the regional leadership must not remain only on paper. They must be realized through the concrete work of regional government agencies," Fakhiri said.
According to him, synchronizing planning and program implementation is a key factor in determining the success of Papua's development. With a unified policy direction, the provincial government is expected to improve Papua's competitiveness compared with other provinces in Indonesia.
The Governor also called on all regional government agencies to carry out their programs in a disciplined manner in line with the plans and budgets that have been set. He underscored the importance of being prepared from the start of the year so that program implementation is not delayed until the end of the fiscal year.
"If planning is solid from the outset, development performance in 2026 must be better than in the previous year," he said.
The directive is part of the Papua Provincial Government's broader effort to strengthen governance and improve the effectiveness of development program implementation across all sectors. ***
