JAKARTA — Papua Governor Matius D. Fakhiri held an audience with Indonesia's Minister of Human Rights, Natalius Pigai, in Jakarta on Thursday (22/1). The meeting formed part of efforts to strengthen coordination between the regional government and the central government.
The audience discussed various development dynamics in the Land of Papua. The meeting was also aimed at supporting the acceleration of development programs currently underway in the region.
The Governor of Papua expressed his appreciation for the Minister of Human Rights' willingness to receive the delegation. He said that direct communication of this kind is important for building unity and synergy among all stakeholders in supporting development in Papua.
"Coordination between the central and regional governments is considered an important factor in promoting inclusive and sustainable development. Synergy among stakeholders is expected to strengthen the implementation of various government programs," the Governor said.
The Papua Provincial Government considers intensive communication with the central government to be key to accelerating development across various sectors.
"This step is also expected to strengthen the state's presence in the Land of Papua," he added. ***
