JAYAPURA — The Papua Provincial Government has asked all regional heads in regencies and cities to remain in their respective areas during the Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah holiday period. The measure is intended to ensure that government services and the handling of various public needs continue to run properly.
"I reiterate to all regents and mayors, along with their deputies, not to leave their regions during the Eid holiday period," said Papua Governor Matius Fakhiri.
According to him, the presence of regional heads in their respective areas is very important to ensure that local governments can immediately respond to various issues that may arise during the holiday period.
The Governor also stressed that the instruction applies to the Papua Provincial Government as well. He and the Deputy Governor of Papua will remain in Papua throughout the Eid period.
"Including myself and the Deputy Governor, we will also remain in Papua in accordance with the direction of the Minister of Home Affairs," he said.
Fakhiri hopes that all regional governments will strengthen cross-sector coordination to ensure that public services continue to operate well and that regional conditions remain safe and conducive during the Eid celebration. ***
