JAYAPURA — The Papua Provincial Government has confirmed that office activities resumed on the first working day after the Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah holiday. The attendance rate of civil servants within the Papua Provincial Government was recorded at around 80 percent.
Acting Regional Secretary of Papua, Christian Sohilait, said that most heads of regional apparatus organizations had returned to duty.
"Out of 42 regional government agencies, only a few still have leaders and staff who have not yet returned because of transportation constraints," Christian said in Jayapura.
He explained that delayed attendance in several regional government agencies was caused by limited flight schedules from the regions, including from Biak and several other areas.
"Some have not been able to get plane tickets because flights are not available every day, and some are still on their way back from outside the region," he said.
To ensure that government activities were running normally, Christian also conducted direct monitoring at several offices, including the Regional Development Planning, Research, and Innovation Agency, the Regional Financial and Asset Management Agency, and the Public Works Office.
"I have checked directly, and most employees have already started returning to work and office activities are running," he said.
The Papua Provincial Government urged civil servants who are still in transit to return to duty immediately so that public services can run optimally after the Eid holiday period. ***
