JAYAPURA — Papua Governor Matius D. Fakhiri emphasized that the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) is a strategic partner of the government in driving regional economic development.
"Kadin should not merely be a formal organization, but must become a real economic force that is adaptive and capable of responding to the challenges of the times," he said while opening the 8th Provincial Conference of Papua Chamber of Commerce and Industry at the Papua Governor's Office on Saturday (April 11).
According to him, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, as a platform for the business community, holds a strategic position as a government partner. Therefore, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry is required not only to function as a formal organization, but also to become a real economic force that is adaptive and able to respond to the challenges of the times.
"In line with the vision of the Papua Provincial Government, namely 'The Realization of a Smart, Prosperous, and Harmonious Papua Transformation (Papua Cerah / Bright Papua),' the direction of economic development must be based on strengthening human resources," he said.
He also expressed appreciation to Ronald Antonio for his dedication while leading the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Papua.
Under his leadership, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Papua was considered successful in strengthening organizational consolidation down to the regency and city levels, while also presenting programs that had a direct impact on strengthening the regional economy.
Fakhiri hopes that the new leadership will be able to continue and improve these achievements with a stronger spirit of innovation and collaboration.
"The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Papua must become the front line in building a healthy, inclusive, and sustainable business ecosystem, and serve as a strategic partner of the government in realizing a smart, prosperous, and harmonious Papua," he concluded. ***
