JAYAPURA — The Papua Provincial Government is pushing to accelerate the reduction of stunting by emphasizing the role of the family as the starting point for intervention. This effort has become a focus in the implementation of the Bangga Kencana Program in the region.
Papua Vice Governor Aryoko A.F. Rumaropen said that stunting remains a serious challenge because it is directly related to the quality of future generations.
"Stunting remains a serious challenge in the Land of Papua," Rumaropen said.
According to him, handling the issue must be carried out comprehensively, starting from fulfilling nutritional needs, providing exclusive breastfeeding, to ensuring access to clean water and sanitation.
"The response must be comprehensive and must begin within the family," he said.
The Papua Provincial Government is also encouraging the involvement of all elements of society so that efforts to reduce stunting can run optimally. ***
