JAYAPURA — Papua Vice Governor Aryoko Alberto Ferdinand Rumaropen called on Bank Indonesia to continue promoting inclusive economic growth in the province through stronger synergy with the regional government and other stakeholders.
He made the statement during the inauguration of Warsono as Head of the Bank Indonesia Representative Office for Papua Province on Friday (April 17).
"The role of Bank Indonesia is very strategic in supporting inflation control, strengthening food security, and encouraging the digitalization of payment systems in Papua," he said.
According to Aryoko, the appointment of Warsono as Head of the Bank Indonesia Representative Office in Papua should serve as a momentum to strengthen collaboration in maintaining regional economic stability.
"For that reason, we hope Bank Indonesia will continue to be present in encouraging an inclusive economy so that the benefits of development can be felt evenly by all people in Papua," he said.
He also emphasized the importance of strengthening the real sector, especially micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), as the backbone of the regional economy and a major source of employment.
He added that the provincial government remains open to the widest possible cooperation with Bank Indonesia in order to strengthen stability and promote sustainable economic growth.
"We are confident that with sustained synergy, Papua's economic transformation toward a more advanced, prosperous, and inclusive region can be realized," he said.
The event was also attended by the Chair of the Papua Provincial PKK Mobilization Team, Ny. Ra'fatul Mulkiyah Fakhiri. ***
