JAYAPURA — The Papua Provincial Government officially opened the Development Planning Conference of the 2027 Regional Government Work Plan and Special Autonomy as a strategic forum for formulating integrated and sustainable regional development policy directions. (April 30)
The event served as an important momentum to align programs between the central, provincial, and regency/city governments in order to accelerate development in Tanah Papua.
The event was attended by various stakeholders, including representatives of ministries/agencies in a hybrid format, the Papua Regional Leadership Coordination Forum, regents and mayors from across Papua, the Executive Committee for the Acceleration of Papua Special Autonomy Development (KIPPP), the Steering Agency for the Acceleration of Papua Special Autonomy Development (BP3OKP), non-governmental organizations (NGOs), community leaders, and heads of regional government agencies within the Papua Provincial Government.
During the forum, it was emphasized that the development theme for 2027 is "Integration of social welfare for quality and inclusive economic growth," with a focus on strengthening governance, improving the quality of human resources, developing the local economy, and ensuring equitable development across regions.
Papua Governor Matius D. Fakhiri stressed the importance of synergy and shared commitment in ensuring that every policy truly has an impact on the community.
"This Development Planning Conference must serve as an effective space for alignment, so that every program formulated can respond to the real needs of the community and promote equitable development in Papua," he said.
Through this Development Planning Conference, the Papua Provincial Government aims to improve the quality of development so that it becomes more inclusive, equitable, and oriented toward public welfare, toward a Smart, Prosperous, and Harmonious Papua. ***
