JAYAPURA – The Papua Provincial Government is encouraging the strengthening of its internal oversight system through the implementation of the Corruption Control Effectiveness Index.
This step is being taken to ensure that corruption prevention is embedded within the government's working system.
Papua Inspector Danny Korwa stated that the Corruption Control Effectiveness Index serves as a measurement tool to assess the effectiveness of corruption risk control within each regional government organization.
"Through the Corruption Control Effectiveness Index, we can see whether the control system is already working or still needs improvement," he said.
He explained that the assessment does not only focus on administrative completeness, but also on implementation in the field.
According to him, effective supervision must be visible in work processes, not only in documents.
"What is being assessed is not only reports, but how the system is truly applied in daily activities," he said.
The Corruption Control Effectiveness Index is also part of strengthening the integrated Government Internal Control System.
"Strengthening internal oversight is key to building a clean and accountable government," he concluded. ***
