Christian Solihait, accompanied by the Acting Assistant III and several technical regional agencies, conducted a field inspection following the riot after the playoff match between Persipura Jayapura and Adhyaksa FC, which took place on Friday evening, May 8, 2026, at Stadion Lukas Enembe, Sport Center Kampung Harapan, Jayapura Regency. During the inspection, the delegation received verbal reports from security authorities regarding some damages caused by the incident, including damage to motorcycles and cars.
In addition, the Acting Papua Regional Secretary and his team directly observed several stadium facilities that had been damaged, including a number of rooms and other supporting equipment within the stadium complex.
The Acting Papua Regional Secretary instructed the relevant technical regional agencies to immediately conduct an initial inventory of all damages after the crime scene investigation process by security authorities is completed.
On that occasion, instructions were also given to carry out cleaning efforts in the front area of the stadium, which had previously been assisted by the Indonesian National Armed Forces as part of the initial response to the affected area.
The Acting Papua Regional Secretary stated that the Papua Provincial Government had coordinated with the local government and security authorities to comprehensively address all impacts arising from the incident, in accordance with regulations and the capacity of the regional government.
"We all understand that the Kampung Harapan Sport Complex is a strategic asset owned by the Papua Provincial Government, playing an important role in the development of sports in the Land of Papua. Therefore, the handling of this situation must be carried out properly, carefully, and responsibly," said the Acting Papua Regional Secretary.
The field inspection also included several vehicles that suffered severe damage and were burned during the riot.
The Papua Provincial Government appealed to the public to maintain security and public order and to support efforts to restore public facilities so that sports activities and public services can return to normal operations. ***
