JAYAPURA – The Papua Provincial Government has urged all regional government organizations to adjust their work patterns in line with the region's limited fiscal condition. This was conveyed by Papua Governor Matius D. Fakhiri when inaugurating administrator officials, supervisory officials, and functional officials in Jayapura on Tuesday (August 12, 2026).
In his remarks, Fakhiri emphasized that the government bureaucracy must continue to run effectively and be able to respond to public needs despite budget limitations.
"The civil servants must work quickly, responsively, and truly be present to serve the community," he said.
According to him, regional government organization leaders also need to be more proactive in identifying potential sources of regional revenue to support the sustainability of government programs.
He stated that work efficiency is important so that public services can continue to run optimally without placing an excessive burden on regional finances.
In addition, Fakhiri said the inauguration of officials was carried out as part of bureaucratic restructuring and the strengthening of government organizations within the Papua Provincial Government.
"Position is a mandate, so it must be carried out with discipline, integrity, and responsibility," he said.
A total of 16 officials were inaugurated, consisting of administrator officials, supervisory officials, and first-level expert functional officials. The Papua Provincial Government hopes that this bureaucratic restructuring will support improved government performance and public services in the region. ***
