JAYAPURA – The Papua Provincial Government officially opened the Papua Job Fair 2026 at the Sasana Krida Building of the Papua Governor's Office on Tuesday (May 12, 2026). The event was attended by dozens of companies and hundreds of job seekers from various areas in Jayapura City.
The opening ceremony was led by Papua Regional Secretariat Assistant I, Yohanes Walilo, representing the Governor of Papua. In his remarks, he said the job fair serves as a platform to connect job seekers with the business sector.
"According to the committee's report, around 500 job vacancies have been prepared for this event," he said.
He added that the involvement of companies from various sectors reflects the business community's support for the government's efforts to create employment opportunities for the people of Papua.
He expressed hope that participating companies would provide opportunities for local workers in accordance with their needs and the skills available.
"We hope the potential and skills of Papuan youth can be utilized properly," he said.
Meanwhile, the committee recorded high enthusiasm from participants since early morning before the event began.
The Papua Job Fair 2026 is scheduled to involve companies from the retail, hospitality, automotive, state-owned enterprise, and regional-owned enterprise sectors. ***
