JAYAPURA – Papua Governor, Matius D. Fakhiri, inaugurated 20 officials within the Papua Provincial Government, consisting of seven Primary High Leadership Officials, three Administrator Officials, and ten Supervisory Officials. The inauguration ceremony took place on the 9th floor of the Papua Governor's Office on Tuesday (June 9).
He stated that the inauguration is part of the government's effort to strengthen professional governance that is oriented toward public service. Promotions, transfers, and rotations are normal dynamics within government organizations and form part of the career development of Civil Servants, carried out based on competence, integrity, performance, and organizational needs.
"The trust given today is a mandate that must be carried out with full responsibility, dedication, and commitment to serving the community," he said.
He also emphasized that a position is not merely an administrative role, but a means to deliver the greatest possible benefits to the people. Therefore, every official is expected to work professionally, uphold integrity, maintain discipline, be innovative, and produce tangible and measurable results.
"Particularly for the Primary High Leadership Officials, I expect you to become drivers of change who can translate the regional development vision into policies and programs that directly impact the welfare of the community."
He also urged them to become leaders who inspire others, build collaboration, and provide solutions to the various development challenges facing the province.
"To the Administrator Officials, I ask that you serve as effective links between policy and implementation in the field. Build a productive work culture, strengthen cross-sector coordination, and accelerate the delivery of increasingly high-quality public services."
Meanwhile, he expressed hope that the Supervisory Officials would optimally carry out their functions of oversight and guidance so that every governmental process runs according to regulations, remains accountable, transparent, and results-oriented.
"At present, the Papua Provincial Government continues to move forward in realizing its regional development vision: 'Achieving a Smart, Prosperous, and Harmonious Papua Transformation (Papua Cerah).' This vision is not merely a slogan, but a shared direction that must be realized through the concrete work of all government personnel."
A Smart Papua is realized through improving the quality of human resources and modernizing government governance. A Prosperous Papua is achieved through equitable development, improved public services, and strengthened community economic empowerment.
Meanwhile, a Harmonious Papua is built through unity, tolerance, and collaboration among all elements of society in maintaining regional security and public order.
"Therefore, I invite all newly inaugurated officials to become part of this transformation. Leave behind ordinary ways of working. Embrace a spirit of serving rather than being served. Introduce innovation, accelerate the implementation of priority programs, and ensure that every policy adopted truly benefits the people of Papua," he concluded. ***
