JAYAPURA – The Papua Provincial Government promised the same award for the winners in National Paralympic Week XVII as the winners in National Sports Week.
This is as conveyed by the Head of the Communication and Informatics Department of Papua, Jeri A. Yudianto to the press in Jayapura, Monday (1/11/2021).
"The awarding of bonuses for the athletes (National Paralympic Week and National Sports Week) is the same as promised by the Governor of Papua when he released the contingent".
"Maybe even the bonus of special needs athletes who excel will be greater. Especially for disabled athletes who make the name of Papua, "he explained again.
According to Jeri, there is no difference in attention from the provincial government to the two national events.
The Papua Provincial Government is sure to provide the same support and attention for all athletes, both normal and with special needs (disability).
This can be seen from the support of the event that was temporarily prepared for the opening ceremony at Jayapura Mandala Stadium including national and international standard venues that will be used by athletes.
"For National Paralympic Week, it is certainly adapted to the standards needed by athletes with disabilities".
"The Papua Provincial Government provides the same space for the citizens, including for those with special needs to develop their potential, especially in bringing the good name of Papua at the national and international levels," he concluded.
It is known, the National Paralympic Week XVI match will be held from 2 to 15 November 2021.
The implementation of National Paralympic Week XVI was held in two clusters, namely Jayapura City and Jayapura Regency with 1,985 athletes.
There are a total of 12 sports to be contested including weight lifting, athletics, boccia, badminton, chess, judo, shooting, archery, swimming, CP football, wheelchair court tennis, and table tennis. ***
