JAYAPURA - The Education Fund Management Institution (LPDP) officially opened a special scholarship program for indigenous Papuan students who intend to continue their education to master's and PhD degrees, both domestically and abroad.
This special scholarship program for indigenous Papuans aims to provide the widest opportunity for Papuan students, in addition to recruitment from the public line that was also opened in 2022.
This is as stated by the Director of Scholarships of the Education Fund Management Institution (LPDP), Dwi Larso after meeting Papua Regional Secretary Doren Wakerkwa, at the Office of the Governor of Dok II Jayapura, Wednesday (03/16/2022).
In this regard, Dwi Larso encouraged provincial and district/city governments in Papua to help socialize this scholarship programs throughout districts and cities.
"Once again, the goal is to attract the interest of Papuan students in participating in the scholarship program".
"Because it has only been held this year. Even in this program, scholarship applicants are not subject to Cumulative Index Achievement (IPK) and language requirements such as TOEFL. In essence, this program provides relaxation for applicants. The registration has been opened in February and will reopen in July, "he said.
Previously, last year (2021, red), LPDP recruited 356 scholarship recipients for masters and doctoral degrees from Papua Province who studied at the best universities, both domestically and abroad.
While the LPDP scholarship program for Papuan students this year covers the cost of education and living expenses of scholarship recipients. With details, for masters with a maximum funding duration of 24 months and doctors with a maximum study duration of 48 months.
"This means that we have conveyed to the scholarship recipients about the financing covered, until the stipulated period of time. But if it is not completed according to the deadline set, they can ask for an extension but with independent funds or not financed by LPDL," he concluded. ***
