JAYAPURA - Papua Regional Secretary Ridwan Rumasukun encouraged Local Governments in Papua to improve their financial governance, in order to achieve the best assessment from the Indonesian Financial Audit Agency (BPK).
"The result of Financial Audit Agency Assessment for the local government's financial statements shows a significant increase.There have been as many as 20 local governments that have received unqualified opinion (WTP) on their financial statements in 2021".
"I urge this condition to be maintained as well as we encourage other local governments to continue to improve the regional financial system in their respective environments, in order to achieve the best results," Ridwan explained in Jayapura, at the handover of the position of Head of Financial Audit Agency of Republic of Indonesia Representative, from the old official, Arjuna Sakir to the new official Martuama Saragi, at the State HouseDok V Jayapura, Monday (22/8/2022).
Ridwan encouraged the existence of the new head of the Financial Audit Agency of Republic of Indonesia, in order to help improve accountable regional financial governance in Papua. Although there are many challenges and obstacles that have the potential to arise due to socio-cultural, geographical and indigenous conditions.
Meanwhile, regarding the handover of office, Ridwan stated that this is a common thing to do in an organization.This change is in order to maintain the sustainability of the implementation of the duties and functions of the organization.
"For this reason, we would like to thank the old official, Arjuna Sakir, for his hard work and dedication so far to the Financial Audit Agency representative of Papua Province," he said. ***
