JAYAPURA - President Joko Widodo accompanied by Iriana Joko Widodo handed over direct cash assistance (BLT) for fuel (BBM) for the first time at the Branch Post Office of Sentani, Jayapura Regency, Wednesday (31/8/2022).
On this occasion, the President also handed over the BLT to the participants of the Family Hope Program (PKH).
"Today we have started the distribution of BLT for fuel given to the community for 4 months, per month it is given IDR 150 thousand, so the total is IDR 600 thousand, and given twice. Today it has started at the Post Office of Jayapura Regency, in Sentani, Jayapura," the President said.
The Head of State said the fuel BLT will be distributed to 20.6 million beneficiaries throughout Indonesia. The assistance, according to the President, was given by the government to increase people's purchasing power amid the threat of the current global crisis.
In addition to the 20.6 million beneficiaries, the President said that fuel subsidy assistance was also given to workers with the same nominal amount.
"In essence, in addition to the provision of fuel BLT to 20,600,000 beneficiaries, fuel subsidies were also given for workers, also amounting to IDR 600 thousand for approximately 16 million workers," he said.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Social Affairs, Tri Rismaharini, said that he would continue to strive so that all beneficiaries could receive the assistance.
"We will finish it, the program for those in mountainous areas, we will deliver it. So you can complain to us later. We have shared it to Nduga especially for those who have not received it yet," he said. ***
