JAKARTA - The success of the Papua Provincial Government in obtaining an Unqualified Opinion (WTP) on the 2021 financial statements, again received an award from the Ministry of Finance, the Republic of Indonesia.
This time the award was sweet, because the Papua Provincial Government received the award for the fifth time from the Ministry of Finance.
The handover by Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani was received by the Regional Secretary of Papua Ridwan Rumasukun accompanied by the Head of the Papua Regional Finance and Assets Agency, Nus Weya, at the 2022 National Working Meeting of Accounting and Government Reporting at the Dhanapala Ballroom of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia, Thursday (22/9/2022).
"This appreciation is given by the government to all Ministries of State/Institutions and Local Governments who won the Unqualified Opinion for the financial statements that have been prepared, with the categories of Unqualified Opinion Award at least 15 times in a row, Unqualified Opinion Award at least 10 times in a row, Unqualified Opinion Award at least 5 times in a row, and Unqualified Opinion Award in 2021".
"The government is working extraordinarily hard using the instruments of the state budget to ease and restore the economy. We use this resource, of course, then it must be accounted for," explained Finance Minister Sri Mulyani in his speech.
Meanwhile, the award was also won by the Papua Provincial Government, for eight consecutive achievements of receiving the Unqualified Opinion award in the preparation of financial statements.
One of the indicators of accountable and transparent state financial management is the acquisition of Unqualified Opinion. The government gives appreciation for the achievement of Unqualified Opinion for LKPP, LKBUN, LKKL, and LKPD and encourages these achievements to be maintained and improved.
"Therefore, in the 2021 LKPP we all report what is used and what has changed from the state finances managed by each Ministry/Institution and Local Government".
"The amount who obtained Unqualified Opinion this year has increased, from 500 to 542 local governments," he explained.
