JAYAPURA - The government of Malaysia invites residents of Papua to visit Jiran City, which is said to have tourism advantages not inferior to other Asian countries such as Singapore.
According to the Acting Ambassador of Malaysia to Indonesia Adlan Mohd Shaffieq, his party is currently aggressively promoting tourists in his country with a target of inviting 4.5 million tourists from all over the world.
A number of promotions include the Malaysia Showcase 2022, which is being held in Jayapura City at this time.
"Jayapura is our first city from a series of Malaysian promotional programs in Papua and the second will be carried out in North Sulawesi Province to be precise in Manado," he said in Jayapura, Tuesday (11/10/2022).
He said that through the promotion, it is also expected to make Malaysia's trade cooperation and investment opportunities in Papua Province better in the future.
"In essence, the Malaysia showcase is a promotional agenda to increase the arrival of foreign tourists to Malaysia".
"But not only promoting tourism as Malaysia's advantage, we are also promoting some Education Malaysia services that will promote to the people in Papua," he said.
In the same place, Acting Assistant for General Affairs of the Papua Regional Secretary Derek Hagemur welcomed Malaysia tourism activities that offer tourism and education in Malaysia.
According to him, Malaysia is a country that is no stranger to Indonesia, especially Papua in the world of health.
"So we hope that there will be cooperation between Papua and the Malaysian embassy, in the fields of tourism, education, health and also the development of natural resources and human resources in Cenderawasih Earth," he said.
The Malaysia Showcase 2022 promotional activity was attended by Acting Assistant for General Affairs of the Papua Regional Secretary Derek Hagemur, Head of the Fisheries, Education, Communication and Informatics Department and principals throughout Jayapura City. ***
