JAYAPURA - The Ministry of Home Affairs appeals to the governor, regent and mayor in Papua fully committed and consistent in implementing public information disclosure (KIP), through efforts to create an ecosystem of information services that are easily accessible, effective, efficient and sustainable.
This was conveyed by the Head of the Information Center (Kapuspen) of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Benni Irwan, at the 2022 Papua Province Public Agency Information Disclosure Awarding ceremony, at the Ballroom of the Swissbell Jayapura Hotel, Thursday (08/12).,
"In essence, we hope that all leaders of public agencies in Papua are committed to implementing Public Information Disclosure."
"Because the right to know and get information is a community right guaranteed by the Law. Therefore, every public agency is asked to be consistent in providing information to the public," he explained.
Meanwhile, regarding the awarding of public information disclosure which is held annually in all regions, including Papua, it is a momentum for monitoring and evaluating the implementation of KIP.
"It means that this momentum should not only be interpreted as a contest between public agencies, but is the right time to build awareness and a common understanding of how important information disclosure is as an effort to accelerate public services" he said.
Therefore, continued Benni, the improvement records that are the results of monitoring and evaluation must be followed up with efforts to improve public services for all people in Papua Province.
It is done to build trust and encourage community participation in realizing good governance, transparency, and accountability.
"For information, in this activity a number of public agencies in Papua Province that are included in certain categories were awarded. They include 4 public bodies of the moderately informative category, 6 public agencies towards informative, and 16 public agencies of the informative category".
"I also congratulate all recipients of the 2022 Papua Province Public Agency Information Disclosure Award, hopefully the awards received today can be used as a trigger to continue to innovate and collaborate in providing the best information services to the community," he said.
The Governor of Papua in his remarks read by the Head of Bappeda, Yohanis Walilo expressed his gratitude to all Commissioners of the Papua Provincial Information Commission who have successfully organized monitoring and evaluation activities for Public Information Disclosure and have given many advocates and work together to all public agencies in Papua Province.
"So that all leaders of Regional Apparatus Organization within the Provincial Government and Regency/City Governments throughout Papua Province and also other Public Bodies can implement the Public Information Disclosure Law and implementing regulations".
"Meanwhile, the Regional Apparatus Organization has not yet implemented the Governor Regulation that has been stipulated in preparing the Service Guidelines and Public Information Disclosure, I order it to implement it immediately," he said. ***
