JAYAPURA - The Papua Provincial Government said that with the inauguration of the Joint Office of the Manunggal One-Stop Administration System (SAMSAT) in Keerom Regency, Papua, it is hoped that it will become a new spirit in improving public services.
Expert Staff of the Governor for Community and Human Resources of Papua Province Elsye Penina Rumbekwan in a press release in Jayapura, Tuesday, said the existence of the Samsat Joint Office in Keerom Regency also plays an important role in increasing regional fiscal capacity.
"Because it is the one of the sources of income for Keerom Regency, where provincial local taxes collected at the Samsat Joint Office will be paid back to the district in the form of provincial tax revenue sharing funds," he said, in Jayapura.
According to Elsye, the newly built joint office building of Samsat Keerom is a commitment of the Papua Provincial Government in realizing one of the missions of the Governor of Papua, namely Strengthening Governance.
"We always strive to consistently improve public services within the Papua Provincial Government, including motor vehicle tax payment services at the office with Samsat," she said.
She explained that the Samsat joint office is a forum for the National Police in charge of traffic, the Regional Financial Management Task Force that carries out provincial tax collection and PT. Jasa Raharja, in organizing Samsat.
"We also appeal to local government officials and all State Civil Apparatus (ASN) to set a good example to the community by paying taxes on time," she said.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Papua Regional Revenue Management Agency (Bappenda) Setyo Wahyudi hopes that the presence with the inauguration of the office can further improve services to the community.
"In the past, the office did not meet the service standards, so construction was carried out to provide comfort to the public when they wanted to pay their vehicle tax," he said. ***
