JAYAPURA - The Papua Provincial Government invites students to start learning international languages to become provisions for themselves (in the world of work) in facing the digitalization era.
It was conveyed by the Acting Assistant for Economic Affairs and People Welfare of Papua Suzana Wanggai, at the commemoration of National Education Day (Hardiknas) 2023, in Jayapura, Tuesday (2/5/2023).
According to Suzana, in this digital era, language is a bridge connecting and communicating media with other countries. So in addition to Indonesian, students should encourage themselves to learn other languages such as English, Japanese, Korean, and others.
"Therefore, we hope that through the commemoration of the National Education Day, the students in schools make the momentum of the National Education Day to realize the spirit of independent learning for both teachers and students in Papua."
"Because Papuan children as a door of Human Resources (HR) to build Papua into a better future through the development of their talents and thoughts," said Suzana.
Head of the Papua Regional Education, Library and Archives Office (DPPAD) Christian Sohilait said the same thing. According to him, learning an international language is a very popular thing for other students abroad.
He also hopes that through the theme of National Education Day 2023, namely "Merdeka Belajar", the world of education in Papua will be more advanced than in previous years.
It is known that the commemoration of the 2023 National Education Day at the Papua Province level is centered at SMA Negeri 3 Buper, Waena Jayapura.
