JAYAPURA - Acting Assistant for Economic Affairs and People Welfare of the Papua Regional Secretary, Suzana Wanggai said efforts to prevent corruption were the responsibility of the party.
Therefore, she invited the district and city governments as well as all related parties in Papua to contribute to preventing corrupt practices. Because with good cooperation from all parties, the Papua region will be clean and free from corruption.
"I believe that with good cooperation from all parties, we can realize a clear Papua from corruption and become a developed and prosperous region," explained Suzana who read the remarks of the Acting Governor of Papua, at the 2023 Papua Corruption Prevention Coordination Meeting, in Jayapura City, Thursday (11/5/2023).
Suzana said, since 2016, efforts to prevent corruption in eight intervention areas have continued through the Corruption Eradication Commission Law (KPK). Papua Province is one province that is a priority for the KPK.
Therefore, it is hoped that through the meeting, it can further strengthen and accelerate the structured and planned corruption prevention program implemented in each local government.
This is to realize clean, effective, democratic and reliable governance in Papua
On the other hand, she hopes that the meeting will make a commitment and can be implemented throughout the region. Because corruption prevention is the responsibility of all parties.
"We consider it very important as a manifestation and commitment to implement integrated corruption prevention program efforts in Papua.
"For this reason, we would like to express our gratitude to the KPK who has continued to assist the Papua Provincial Government and districts/cities in Papua in improving better, orderly and transparent and accountable governance," she said. ***
