JAYAPURA - The Papuan contingent brought home a gold medal at the XVI National Pornas Korpri Central Java, which will be held from 13 to 21 July 2023, in Semarang.

One medal of the Papuan Contingent was donated from the Women's Volleyball, while four other sports (Futsal, Field Tennis, Gymnastics and Basketball) failed.

Head of the Korpri Papua Contingent Aaron Rumainum through the Head of the Papua Communication and Informatics Department Jeri A. Yudianto, Monday (24/7/2023), in Jayapura, expressed his gratitude for the support of all parties, so that the Korpri Papua team had the opportunity to participate in the national level event.

He also expressed his appreciation to all athletes who have worked hard in all sports, even though they have not had time to contribute medals.

"We from the contingent would like to especially thank the Acting Governor of Papua, the Chairman of Korpri Papua as the supervisor of State Civil Apparatus, the Director of BPD Papua, and GM Garuda Indonesia Papua Region who provided satisfactory service and all sponsors who have helped."

"Our appreciation also goes to all contingents who have struggled even though one gold was brought home, it's an incredible piece of hard work, which must be appreciated to athletes, coaches and officials," explained Jeri.

Jeri on that occasion also expressed his gratitude to the contingent secretariat for helping to meet the needs of all athletes while they competed in the Central Java National Pornas.

"Including journalists who have participated in publishing the results of matches participated in by the Papuan team, both those who did live coverage in Semarang, but also media friends in Jayapura in particular and Papua in general," he said. ***
