JAYAPURA - The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) Papua released the Farmer Exchange Rate (NTP) at 100.11 in July 2023, an increase of 0.06 percent compared to the previous month.
According to the Head of the Central Statistics Agency of Papua Adriana Helena Carolina, the Farmer Exchange Rate increase occurred because the price index received by farmers increased by 0.12 percent. That's faster than the 0.06 percent increase in the price paid by farmers.
"In July 2023, Farmer Exchange Rate in Papua Province will increase by 0.06 percent with an index of 100.11. This value is smaller than the National Farmer Exchange Rate in July 2023 at 110.64 which increased by 0.21 percent compared to the previous month," she said in Jayapura, Tuesday (1/8/2023).
Meanwhile, the calculation results of the Farmer Exchange Rate in 34 provinces in July 2023, continued Adriana, showed that 19 provinces experienced an increase while 15 other provinces experienced a decrease. West Sulawesi Province recorded the highest increase in Farmer Exchange Rate, which was 2.27 percent, while North Maluku Province recorded the deepest NTP decline, which was 2.13 percent.
"The rural area is recorded to experience an increase in the Household Consumption Index (IKRT) by 0.04 percent in July 2023."
"So that the Exchange Rate of Papuan Agricultural Household Enterprises (NTUP) in July 2023 is 101.58 or decreased by 0.02 percent," she said.
It is known, the Farmer Exchange Rate is a comparison of the price index received by farmers against the price index paid by farmers.
The farmer Exchange Rate is one of the indicators to see the level of ability/purchasing power of farmers in rural areas. It also shows the exchangeability of agricultural products with goods and services consumed as well as for production costs. ***
