JAYAPURA - The Papua Communication and Informatics Department assesses the importance of students knowing and learning Logical Programming.
In some regions in Indonesia, they have begun to apply coding lessons starting from the kindergarten level.
"Digital literacy in the future cannot be separated from the ability of logical programming."
"Because in the future our digital technology has entered Artificial Intelligence (AI). This will be part of our daily lives later," said the Head of the Papua Communication and Informatics, Jeri A. Yudianto, Wednesday (23/8/2023), on the sidelines of the Digital Literacy Socialization agenda, in Jayapura.
This activity is coupled with the 2023 Informatics Logical Programming Competition (ILPC) initiated by the Papua Communication and Information Department with thelocal Indonesian Government Science Society (MIPI).
Said Jeri, the agenda of Digital Literacy Socialization and ILPC competition, among others, aims to encourage logic and programming competitions to become annual events. Moreover, the ILPC 2023 participants in high school and vocational students of the same level in Jayapura City are very enthusiastic in the competition.
"Hopefully, this event will become one of our periodic agendas. Because the need for algorithms has actually become a general part that must be encouraged to be learned by students in Papua," hoped Jeri.
Meanwhile, Jeri admitted that his party would collaborate with various other universities in Papua in the next ILPC competition. The next event will certainly be packaged even better.
"I will convey it to the Governor of Papua regarding this. The application of this activity will be continued and it can make young people in Papua more capable, qualified and professional in the field of information technology,"said Jeri. ***
