JAYAPURA - Vice President Ma'rufAmin planned to encourage the appointment of teachers in Papua, to increase the acceleration of improving the quality of education.
This is related to the fact that there are still many teachers in Papua who have not been appointed as civil servants because they have not met the required requirements.
"The central government must provide affirmation in the appointment of teachers for those who only graduated from high school with certain conditions,"said the Vice President, on Tuesday (10/10/2023), during his working visit to Jayapura.
It is known that Vice President Amin in Jayapura directly chaired the Coordination Meeting of the Steering Board for the Acceleration of Papua Special Autonomy Development which was attended by Acting Governors in six provinces in the land of Papua.
The meeting also discussed a number of important issues related to development in Papua, one of which concerns improving the quality of education.
In addition to the issue of education, said the Vice President, the meeting also discussed the development of effective governance, especially in Southwest Papua, South Papua, Highland Papua and Central Papua.
"This meeting aims to accelerate the process of building facilities and infrastructure in 4 of the New Autonomous Regions in Papua. Including the obstacles faced by the local government in completing the staffing element,"said Amin.
Prior to the meeting, the Vice President also held a meeting with humanitarian, human rights and peace activists and Papuan businessmen. ***
