JAYAPURA - The 2023 Border Trade Show at the Neutral Zone of the Skouw-Wutung RI-PNG Border, Jayapura City, Friday (15/12/2023),was officially opened and enlivened by MSMEs of the two countries.
The activity aims to promote MSME commodities of the two countries so that the Skouw Border area is expected to become a country of development in the Pacific and Oceanian regions and Melanesia.
"It is also expected that there will be international standard transactions that include multi-quality products from both countries," explained Assistant Secretary of Papua for Economic Affairs and People's Welfare, Suzana Wanggai, representing the Acting Governor of Papua, Ridwan Rumasukun, who opened the activity.
Suzana said that her party was very grateful could hold the activity, because it was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic
"This exhibition was held in 2017 and became an annual activity. Because of COVID-19, it was only held again this year,"explained Suzana.
Therefore, she hopes that through this activity, entrepreneurs in the two countries can get to know each other's products. So that it will be increased in cooperation in the fields of Economy and Trade, Tourism and Culture.
It is known that the 2023 Border Trade Show is a form of commitment of the two countries to increase cooperation in various fields. This is a result of the meeting of the leaders of the two countries on July 5 when President Jokowi visited PNG.
This event is a golden bridge for business people to get new business opportunities. ***
