JAYAPURA – The 2nd Cenderawasih Festival in 2025 serves as a key opportunity for the Papua Provincial Government to promote the growth of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and the creative economy sector as new sources of economic development.
Acting Governor of Papua, Ramses Limbong, highlighted the importance of boosting local competitiveness through approaches rooted in culture and local wisdom.
He conveyed this message during his speech at the opening of the Cenderawasih Festival in Jayapura on Friday (June 13, 2025).
Ramses emphasized that MSMEs are the backbone of the regional economy and must be continuously supported to become more adaptable and resilient.
“We need to promote tourism, the creative economy, and local culture as new drivers of Papua’s economy,” he said.
According to Ramses, Papua’s distinctive cultural and natural assets are vital for building an inclusive and sustainable economy.
He also noted that accelerating digitalization should be part of the strategy to strengthen MSMEs.
The 2nd Cenderawasih Festival features MSME actors from various sectors, showcasing local products, cultural art performances, and public education. ***
