JAYAPURA – Just a few hours after his inauguration, Acting Governor of Papua Agus Fatoni held a meeting with heads of regional government work units on Monday (July 7, 2025) at the Ministry of Home Affairs office in Jakarta.

This move marked an initial consolidation effort to organize governance in Papua under his leadership. One of the main agendas was preparation for the re-vote for the Governor and Vice Governor of Papua.

Fatoni called on all elements of the government and society to maintain security and ensure the success of the regional elections. “Let’s maintain unity and keep Papua conducive,” he said.

He also emphasized the importance of optimizing regional finances so that public spending has a direct impact on the people. “Spending plans will be reviewed based on the priorities of each SKPD,” he stated.

During the meeting, Fatoni opened space for discussion and listened to input from the heads of regional government work units. He called for collaboration and responsive leadership.

The meeting was attended by several officials from the Papua Provincial Government, including the Acting Regional Secretary and heads of departments and technical bureaus. ***
