JAYAPURA – The Papua Provincial Government officially inaugurated 64 administrators, supervisors, and functional officials within the regional government. The ceremony, held at the State Building, Jayapura City, on Monday (Sept 8, 2025), was part of the provincial government’s ongoing restructuring process and an effort to fill vacant echelon III and IV positions.
Acting Regional Secretary of Papua, Suzana Wanggai, explained that the inauguration was conducted to ensure the bureaucracy continues to function effectively following structural adjustments in several regional apparatus organizations.
“Filling these positions is important to maintain oversight and administrative functions. The Papua Provincial Government still has echelon III and IV positions that need to be filled, of course, with technical consideration from the National Civil Service Agency and the Ministry of Home Affairs,” Suzana stated.
According to her, at least 12 out of 40 regional apparatus organizations have undergone structural changes. As a result, several strategic positions became vacant and needed to be filled promptly through a selection process in accordance with prevailing regulations.
“This inauguration process is expected to strengthen the performance of the apparatus while also supporting the implementation of development programs in Papua,” she added.
Suzana further emphasized that restructuring and filling positions should serve as momentum to maintain bureaucratic stability and improve the effectiveness of public services.
“The Papua Provincial Government is committed to ensuring that services continue to run smoothly despite structural changes,” she affirmed.
The inauguration event also highlighted the government’s broader commitment to streamlining organizational structures and enhancing the quality of governance in Papua. By filling vacant positions, the provincial government aims to strengthen coordination, improve service delivery, and ensure that regional development programs can be implemented more effectively. ***
