JAYAPURA – The Papua Provincial Government has emphasized that every student enrolled in the Integrated Sekolah Rakyat 75 Phase 1C must undergo a medical check-up before moving into the dormitory. This policy aims to ensure that all students begin their studies in good health and are fully prepared for the learning process.
Assistant I to the Regional Secretary of Papua, Yohanes Walilo, stated that most of the students come from rural villages, making early detection of possible pre-existing illnesses essential.
“We don’t want any underlying illnesses to go undetected, as they could later cause problems during school activities. Therefore, before the learning process begins, each student must be confirmed healthy,” he said during the school’s inaugural event on Tuesday (September 30, 2025).
In addition to medical check-ups, the initial program included a School Orientation designed to introduce students to the school environment and dormitory regulations while fostering discipline from an early age.
Head of Sekolah Rakyat Terintegrasi 75, Abigael Kalami, added that 100 new students were admitted this year—comprising 50 elementary and 50 junior high school students from various districts across Papua, including Jayapura City.
With the support of the Papua Industrial Training Center as a temporary facility, the school is expected to serve as a strategic step by the provincial government in expanding access to quality primary and secondary education for Papuan children.
“We also hope to receive additional teaching staff so that the learning process can run optimally,” Abigael said. ***
